It’s almost October, which means the 2025 Southwest Artist Showcase is gearing up 🙂

The Southwest Artist Showcase is a non-juried, non-profit art exhibition featuring west and southwest Seattle creatives, with works displayed throughout the branch. We invite you to submit your work (up to three pieces). Here are some important dates to note:

Southwest Artist Showcase: Sunday, October 5 – Sunday, November 2 at the Southwest Branch of the Seattle Public Library
Art drop-off period: Wednesday, October 1 – Friday, October 3 during Southwest Branch open hours
Art pick-up period: Monday, November 3 – Sunday, November 9 (NOTE: Southwest Branch is closed on Saturday, November 8)
**Opening Day Reception: Sunday, October 5 from 11am – 12:30pm

Please note that there are no official size or medium restrictions, and that we strive to include all works that are submitted, as space allows. However, some works may not be included if their size or construction prevents their effective display in the library. Library staff will determine the placement and display of each piece, and artwork will not be moved once it has been placed.

IMPORTANT P.S.! Here are some friendly reminders about submitting your work:
As usual, our drop-off window is short! Remember that you can have a trusted individual drop your art off and sign the Permission to Display form on your behalf.
If you’d prefer your work be displayed in a particular way, please consider loaning us an easel or display mount that will enable us to show your work. Remember, if staff cannot safely or effectively display your art using our own materials, we may not be able to include your piece(s) in the showcase.
Do NOT include a price on your art or on the Permission to Display form. You may not sell your work or display a price on your art or artist label.
Please write clearly/legibly on your Permission to Display form. We will use that form to create a label for your art, and we don’t want to misspell your name!
