Just a note to let you in on an exciting WEST SEATTLE AUTHOR EVENT!

What? Trilingual reading of children’s book by West Seattle author Julia Douthwaite Viglione, PhD, The Frankenstein of the Apple Crate, with French translation read by Cécile Perruche of the Alliance Française, and Spanish translation to be presented by tba.

When? Saturday October 12. Seating begins at 6 pm, with readings at 6:30 pm.

Where? The Country Store and Farm, 20211 Vashon Hwy SW, Vashon WA 98070. For more info: https://www.countrystoreandfarm.com/pages/workshops

For whom? Children ages 8 and up and their parents, history buffs, and anyone interested in the origins of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

This event kicks off an art exhibit called “A Life in Quilts, ca. 1974-2019,” that will be on display at the Country Store until mid-November. It features ten of my “literary” and “memory” quilts, and a fragment from an ancestor, to see how one author/sewer’s vision and skills have evolved over time. The newest quilts will be available for sale.
