The Musica Sacra Chamber Chorale Spring concert series will be performed on the evening of Saturday, March 29th, 7:30 pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in West Seattle.

Featuring the Talvi String Quartet with pianist Kevin Aanerud, these concerts will provide the listener a musical journey from the fall of evening shadows to the clear light of morning. They will serve as a wonderful introduction to the Lenten season or Holy Week for all who attend. Featured on the concerts will be seldom heard works for chamber choir and string quartet by Mozart (Misericordia Domini) and Beethoven (Elegischer Gesang), as well as Samuel Barber’s exquisite Agnus Dei based on his famous Adagio for Strings. A highlight will be Ola Gjeilo’s exciting setting of the mystic writings of John of the Cross entitled Dark Night of the Soul and its sequel Luminous Night of the Soul.

The concerts will close with a gorgeous setting of Dolly Parton’s Light of a Clear Blue Morning for 8 part acapella choir and soprano soloist. This concert is a not-to-be-missed event! Tickets are available at the MSCC website, www.musicasacrachamberchorale.com, or through Brown Paper Ticke
