MoneySmart program for kids: Savertooth’s ‘Learning How to Save’

The library will be hosting a series of programs for children, teens and adults during a national library promotion of personal financial literacy, April 5-12.

At the West Seattle (Admiral) Branch Library on Saturday, April 12, 2014, 3–4 pm:

Learn how to open a savings account and set savings goals. For ages 12 and under. BECU presents an interactive workshop for kids on the importance of creating goals, setting up a savings account and watching money grow.

With the help of Savertooth and other financial education characters, children ages 12 and under will learn the basics of:
– filling out an account application
– completing a deposit slip
– keeping track of deposits in a register
– reading a bank statement

This workshop will involve math, as well as reading and comprehension.
