Peter is a survivor of the Dutch Holocaust who, at age seven, returned home to find his father, grandparents, and siblings snatched off the street by the SS. He and his mother went into hiding for a period of three years with the help of several Dutch Christians. They managed to survive until May of 1945 when Canadian forces freed Amsterdam.
