New Zealand’s most awarded winery Villa Maria is featured at Salty’s on Alki in an informal one-hour meet, greet and slurp event. We’re calling it “Kiwi Meets the Sea” and you’ll have a chance to taste their wines along with fresh oysters on the half shell from Taylor Shellfish Farms, on September 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

It’s also your chance to meet New Zealand’s Winemaker Simon Fell of Villa Maria winery and enjoy stunning wines perfectly paired with pristine freshly shucked oysters. You’ll also enjoy folk blues by the The W Lovers.

As an icon of the New Zealand wine industry, Villa Maria is known for bold and industry-changing moves such as using screwcaps and employing sustainable practices in every area of the family-owned company. Salty’s on Alki, also a family-owned company, is becoming known for its live music in the Cafe-Bar. The W Lovers, a guitar and mandolin duo, will play folk blues for you (stay longer for their music playing 6:00 to 9:00 pm) while you sip Villa Maria wine and slurp an oyster or two (6:30 to 7:30 pm).
