Join us at the West Seattle (Admiral) Library for an introduction to US Topo, the new generation of topographic maps from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) that show elevation and landforms. Registration is required.

Class instructor Tom Carlson, the Washington State Geospatial Liaison to the USGS, will show you how to use US Topo in a hands-on environment. You may use a branch computer or bring your own laptop.

Some of the topics covered will be:

– Searching for digital US topographic maps using the US Topo website
– Downloading and displaying topo maps
– Utilizing measuring and labeling tools
– Adding additional map information
– Accessing historical digital USGS topo maps

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome.
