History Hour Series – This lecture series will cover a broad range of topics including
local West Seattle history, the Duwamish River and Native peoples, letter writing during
World War II and more. Lectures will be hosted by various local authors and speakers and
will feature one walking tour. Entrance fee for each lecture: $5

 The Story Behind the Murals of West Seattle with a side trip into the landmarking of
local buildings, Thursday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

 The River that Made Seattle: A Human and Natural History of the Duwamish,
Thursday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

 Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein – Anatomy of a Masterpiece,
Thursday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

 25 Sugarland Road: A narrative about letter writing during World War II: Thursday: Nov. 10, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
