Marijuana, THC and CBD: “Facts, Fiction & New Discoveries”
A detailed overview of the cannabis plant, providing an understanding of its psychoactive and potential medicinal qualities, how it interacts with the Endocannabinoid System and new scientific research.

Presenter Maryam Mirnateghi, Owner & CEO, Canna West Seattle, has been in the cannabis business for over a decade, first as a medical dispensary owner with Fusion Medical Marijuana and now as a recreational shop owner at Canna West Seattle. She also owns its sister lifestyle store, the Canna West Culture Shop. She has been a long time advocate for medical marijuana, is a guest writer for Entrepreneur Magazine and a founding member of the State of Washington’s Cannabis Ethics and Standards Board.

Presenter Ariana Ramirez, Licensed Medical Marijuana (MMJ) Consultant, helped to build the Medical Marijuana Program at Canna West Seattle, after years of consulting during Washington’s medical cannabis days. As a licensed consultant, she has helped guide many people through the process of obtaining their medical cards and aided clients to developing their own holistic treatment plans. Ariana is an advocate and member of NORML Women’s Alliance, Former World Muay Thai Champion and Masters Hall of Fame inductee.

Presenter Nina Perceful, Manager of Canna West Culture Shop, rediscovered marijuana and cannabidiol (CBD) for their medicinal qualities after a major knee injury and in search for an alternative to opioids. Through the healing process and use of cannabis products, she discovered a spectrum of other benefits, in addition to pain management. Research focused and with personal testimony, Nina has become a cannabis enthusiast and educator.

This program is part of a monthly series exploring healthy aging for active seniors, presented in partnership with Brookdale – Senior Living Solutions.
