Happy Hour for Sad People

9444 Delridge WayHappy hour for those tired of getting “pity face” when their loss comes up. Everyone here is sad . . . and happy to see you.
Imagine the scene: you’re finally ready to shed the pajama pants, leave the house, and talk to other adults. You head to your favorite place to socialize and the first person you talk to looks at you like you have something in your teeth and a stain on your shirt. You immediately retreat back to the couch, feeling alienated and misunderstood.
Enter Listening to Grief’s Happy Hour for Sad People. At Mr. B’s Mead Center in White Center you can talk about your loss (if you want; there’s no expectation to discuss it) without the risk of pity face—you know the one—because everyone here gets it. Far too many grieving people lose friends or feel distanced from their community because of their loss. Being with other grievers eases the loneliness. You might even have some fun (again, no pressure!).
Free, donations appreciated. As a courtesy to Mr. B, we ask that each attendee purchase at least one drink. Non-alcoholic mead is available (and delicious). No reservations needed–just drop on by!
Expect a casual social gathering where grief is understood and you don’t have to hide the fact you might be dealing with some hard things. Any type of loss has a place here. Stay as long as you want, talk to whomever you want, about whatever you want, and be yourself.
