Sound Foundations NW* is hosting a showing of ‘Trickle Down Town’ at Ark Lodge Cinemas to raise money for building tiny homes at Camp Second Chance. Currently Camp Second Chance is a sanctioned homeless encampment with both tiny homes and temporary shelters (tents). Sound Foundations NW’s goal for 2019 is to replace the remaining 18 tents with tiny homes. These homes serve as transitional housing until residents find permanent housing solutions.

‘Trickle Down Town’ is a documentary that focuses on the human aspect of our local housing crisis. The film features visits to homeless encampments along with personal experiences from our homeless neighbors and those working to help move people from homelessness into permanent housing. You can view a trailer for the film here. Space is limited, so please RSVP early.

Following the film, there will be a Q&A session with the filmmaker, and others involved in the issue. We will discuss Camp Second Chance and specifically how Sound Foundations NW can finish this tiny home village and create the positive impact that it can make to the community

Sound Foundations NW has no paid staff. That means that 100% of every dollar you donate goes towards purchasing the building materials for the remaining 18 tiny homes.

Homelessness in Seattle has reached critical levels. There is indeed something you as an individual can do. By donating money for building materials or donating your time to helping Sound Foundations NW, you help get one more person off the ground and into a space that is warm, safe and dry.
