Activity #186965

Wed Oct 17

10 am-11:30 am

Location: Schmitz Preserve Park, 5551 SW Admiral Way

Wander among giants of the forest at West Seattle’s Schmitz Park with a retired park ranger, Pat Pilcher, as your guide. Whether your relationship with trees is a casual fling or a passionate affair, you will discover facts and hear stories about these marvelous plants that may change your perception of trees. The walk will explore the essence of the old growth forest that once covered most of the Puget Sound area to understand and appreciate our bond with this exceptional environment. During the walk we’ll learn key characteristics to aid in identifying many native trees. This is an interactive experience that encourages participation while respecting your perspective and shared wisdom. Meet at the Admiral Way entrance and be prepared for muddy trails and possible rainy weather. To register, contact John.Hasslinger@Seattle.gov or call 206-256-5403.
