Kol HaNeshamah and the Seattle Jewish Theater Company present “Crossing Delancey,” 8:00 pm Saturday March 16th at Kenyon Hall:

Kol HaNeshamah, West Seattle’s Progressive Synagogue Community, is holding a special fundraising event, an entertaining evening of theater at Kenyon Hall. The Seattle Jewish Theater Company will present Crossing Delancey, a delightful romantic comedy.

The play centers on Isabelle, “Izzy,” a single young Jewish woman who works in an upscale Manhattan bookstore and longs to be part of the intellectual literary scene. But her roots are on the Lower East Side
where her old-fashioned grandmother (her “Bubbie”) and a matchmaker are trying to fix her up with Sam, a quiet young man who runs a pickle store in the neighborhood. The conflict is resolved with a generous dose of humor, affection, and wisdom.

Crossing Delancey is a Jewish story, but its themes of love and family are universal. The production is one all ages can enjoy together.

Live Klezmer music will be provided by Talia Toni Marcus. A Q&A with the director and cast will follow the performance.

Proceeds of ticket sales will be donated to Kol HaNeshmah.
