Volunteer at College Street Ravine with Dow Constantine

Dow Constantine is a West Seattle local who got his start in politics through his environmental work with the Friends of the College Street Ravine many years ago. Before becoming King County Executive, Dow worked with his local community to save the five-acre green space from threats of development.

After Dow was elected, he asked Nature Consortium to continue the work he started at College Street Ravine. Since 2010, we’ve celebrated Dow’s birthday, and sometimes half-birthday, with live music and community service.

This year, we invite you, your family, and your neighbors to volunteer with Nature Consortium to plant trees and shrubs in the ravine and remove invasive weeds to help our local habitat heal. Volunteering is an excellent way to meet neighbors, enjoy the outdoors, and support the community we all share.

When: Saturday, November 15, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: SW College Street and 51st Avenue SW

No experience is necessary, and Nature Consortium will provide the tools and training you need to work. Live music for the event will be provided while you work by local trombonist Marc Smason.

In addition to Dow’s birthday, you can also join Nature Consortium at College Street Ravine on the first Tuesday of every month. Visit www.naturec.org/volunteer to RSVP.
