Garden ollas (oh-yaz) are porous clay pots that provide water to the root zone of plants. An ancient dryland irrigation technique, ollas conserve water and encourage deep root growth. Plant roots grow to and around the olla, sipping water as needed through the unglazed clay pot. Learn to hand build a small or medium-sized olla (max 12” tall) for use in your own garden bed or container!
