We’ll discuss how to taste beer, how to pair beer with food, and how to impress family and friends with your newly-acquired beer knowledge. It will give you something to talk about other than religion and politics.

Northwest’s First Female Cicerone to Lead Light-Hearted Class That Teaches Beer Pairing, Tasting and More

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, Seattle’s Marination is giving the city something extra to be thankful for by offering its take on one of this season’s hottest trends: Thanksgiving dinner beer pairing. The tasting and education class will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 6:00-7:00 pm at Marination ma kai, on Alki Beach.

Led by Washington State’s first female Cicerone, Robyn Schumacher, the one-hour class will teach thirsty patrons which beers to pair with Thanksgiving dinner, how to pair beer with other food, how to taste beer, and how to impress family and friends with newly acquired beer knowledge. For $25, participants receive five beer tastings, selected for their pairing qualities, a choice of 2 tacos or sliders, and a raffle ticket to win the first ma kai pint glass. Discounted pints are also available after 7:00 p.m. for all participants.

“We LOVE beer. It’s perfect for our food and it pairs well with a variety of other dishes, including Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing,” said Kamala Saxton, Marination’s co-founder. This class enables us to
share our expertise and passion for beer with patrons in the laid-back and inviting atmosphere of Marination ma kai.”
