Recognizes businesses of any size, for their significant efforts to support the local economy through procurement, sourcing, and employment.

Built Environment: Innovative Projects
Recognizes built environment projects that are conscious of their environmental impacts in these criteria: waste, energy, stormwater, water quality, and materials.

Arts: Media and Communication
Recognizes media and communications (including film) that effectively communicate and engage the public about sustainability and community resilience in creative ways.

Resilience: Building Resilience & Empowering Communities to Thrive
Recognizes businesses, organizations or agencies that are creating effective programs or activities to specifically address climate change vulnerability through community empowerment.

FINALISTS: GOT GREEN, SEATTLE SCHOOL FOOD SHARE, SEATTLE YOUTH CAN, PLANT FOR THE PLANET, SOUTH PARK STEWARDS

Technology: Innovative Creation or Implementation to Advance Sustainability
Recognizes original, highly innovative use or creation of technology to address sustainability issues, especially focusing on start ups and new efforts.

FINALISTS: ENERG2, HAXGEO, IMPACT BIOENERGY, POGO RIDES, PORT OF SEATTLE/FOSSIL FUEL PLAN

Sustainability Hero
Our highest annual award recognizes a specific individual who has made an exceptionally significant and inspiring contribution to the sustainability movement in the greater Seattle region in their role as a community member, teacher, or part of a government, non-profit or community organization. This year, we are focusing on individuals who are educating the next generation, looking out for long-term sustainability and resilience.
