(cameraphone photo added 7:55 pm)
Crews are arriving at a house in the 9300 block of 31st Place SW (map) — reporting heavy smoke from multiple windows of the single-story home. Residents tell the firefighters, according to the scanner, that everybody’s out OK. 7:49 PM UPDATE: We’re on scene. They’re scaling back the size of the response. The fire was described as a kitchen fire spreading to the attic, and firefighters had to cut into the roof for ventilation.
(photo by Tony Bradley, added 8:33 pm)
The smoke has cleared and it appears to be in mopup phase.

8:37 PM UPDATE: Fire crews confirm nobody was hurt. They aren’t sure yet what started the fire; investigators were arriving to start working on figuring that out. ADDED: Cameraphone video shot from across the street by Conrad:
We’ll check Friday morning to see if investigators pinpointed the fire’s cause.
(cameraphone photo added 5:11 pm)
Southwest Precinct police are responding to a robbery call at Westwood Village – believed to be the Alaska USA Credit Union branch in QFC. We’re on our way to check it out. 4:55 PM UPDATE: We’re on the scene. That is indeed the bank that was hit. No injuries that we know of. A K-9 officer is at the scene and while the bank branch is closed now, the store’s still open, for now. 5:27 PM UPDATE: Just talked to a manager at the bank. It will stay closed till about 7, then the manager says it will reopen for a little while in case people need to handle transactions as the week comes to a close – it’ll be open regular hours tomorrow.

ORIGINAL 10:21 PM REPORT: We got a call about a water-main break and have just confirmed with Seattle Public Utilities‘ Andy Ryan that a 12″ main is broken in the 3200 block of 16th SW. No other details yet, but apparently some people are without water as a result. That address is on Harbor Island, by the way (map). 11:01 PM UPDATE: From WSB photojournalist Christopher Boffoli at the water-main-break scene: “12 inch water main broke around 9pm. No idea what caused the break. Has caused water outages in West Seattle. Repair may take 6 hours. Some businesses on Harbor Island are flooded out.” 11:14 PM UPDATE: More from Christopher: “Estimated 60,000 gallons of water spilled until they were able to turn it off. No idea how many households are affected but calls are coming in to SPU from a number of West Seattle customers.” As Aaron points out in comments, the Fire Department has now been summoned to the water-main-break location, which is described on the 911 log as “water job minor.” 11:40 PM UPDATE: More from Christopher, who has talked with SPU spokesperson Andy Ryan at the scene: “… the pipe that broke was new. The service had recently been moved farther away from the building. Andy speculates that there may have been a problem with the installation or some of the materials may have had a failure. They will have to do a forensic examination to determine exactly what happened.” 11:54 PM UPDATE: New information from Christopher – he’s been told SFD will be pumping several feet of water out of the basement of Seattle Bulk Rail. Also, new estimate of how much water was lost – almost 850,000 gallons – which was said to have caused a pressure drop so dramatic, it was felt as far away as Beacon Hill and Capitol Hill. ADDED 1:07 AM: A few more photos from Christopher:
We’ll be checking with SPU in the morning for new information about what happened and who in all was affected.
Unfolding on the scanner: Police were flagged down at Me-Kwa-Mooks Park on Beach Drive (map) – the first officer there has found someone with a gunshot wound to the “back of the head” but also described as “conscious and alert.” The suspect, said to be armed with a handgun, is reported to have fled “on foot.” Police are asking if a helicopter is available (apparently it is not). The suspect is described as a mixed-race male running southbound in white T-shirt and jeans. 1:17 AM UPDATE: Just got a call from someone who lives just south of Beach Drive, who says police advised them to stay inside. No word yet on the victim’s condition. 2:18 AM: No further info so far; thanks to those who have added in comments what they’ve seen near the scene. 11:28 AM NOTE: Continuing to pursue additional information – will publish a separate update as soon as it’s available. 11:38 PM UPDATE: Have just published a separate update with new information from police. See it here. Bottom line – the man said he had been shot but turned out not to have been. He and the alleged suspect believed to have “assaulted each other.” Neither seriously hurt.
Three engines have gone to this one. We’ll be heading over to check it out – Marine View and 35th (map). Hard to imagine it wouldn’t be fireworks related – here in Upper Fauntleroy, a couple miles north, it’s been nonstop noise for about two hours. 11:01 PM UPDATE: Back from checking it out. Two engines still there but nothing visible from streetside – it’s not right at the bend, but somewhere around the homes just northwest of there. Huge amount of fireworks as we drove through Arbor Heights, though, including two people launching bottle rockets from atop a beer box right on the shoulder of 35th. Did notice the Arroyos, down the west slope from southern Arbor Heights/Marine View Drive, has an incredible view of Vashon fireworks. 11:31 PM UPDATE: Now one engine’s responding to a brush fire report in 8800 block of Delridge. (minutes later) That call closed fast but there’s a new one in the 9600 block of 20th SW. MIDNIGHT UPDATE: And since then, a couple more. No indication at this point that any has been major, but local engines have certainly had to run from one call to another, one end of West Seattle to another. Here’s the live fire/medic 911 log.
(photos added 3:25 pm)
Just got a call from Holly – two minutes after the call turned up on 911 – brush fire in the 6400 block of California (map). Heading down to check it out. Holly says she heard the sound of fireworks right before this happened – whether that is or isn’t the cause, a reminder that it’s VERY dry out there, not to mention, fireworks are illegal within Seattle city limits. 3:19 PM UPDATE: Just back, adding photos in a moment. The fire was on the brushy mini-slope immediately northwest of the park; the Engine 37 crew is hosing down the entire park as well as the spot where they extinguished the fire:
California was blocked right at Fauntleroy on the south and by the park on the north (the fire hose stretched across the road) – we’ll check in a bit to see if it’s reopened yet.
Nearby Beveridge Place Pub is closed today but owners Gary and Terri Sink were there doing some work, and watered down their building/garden after the fire, to be on the safe side.
(Photos by Christopher Boffoli, this one added 5:26 pm)
ORIGINAL 5:15 PM REPORT: Fire in a house – we’re on our way. According to the scanner, crews are searching the house (in the 4100 block of 48th – map) to make sure nobody’s inside. Also per the scanner – The fire’s in the basement and is now “tapped.” 5:24 PM UPDATE: WSB photojournalist Christopher Boffoli is on the scene and reports “lots of smoke” before the fire was tapped. (photo added 6:11 pm)
The response has been scaled back but several engines remain on the scene, working to fully extinguish the basement fire. 5:42 PM UPDATE: Christopher spoke with the Fire Department’s incident commander, who confirms that nobody was hurt, and adds that investigators are on the way to figure out how the fire started.
(photo added 6:12 pm)
We are still at Westwood Village as the street fair enters its final hour – and a huge fire/police response has just raced by for a “heavy rescue” call at 2600 Barton, which is one of Westwood Village’s addresses – we’re heading up the block to see what’s happening. UPDATE – A car has crashed into a wall by Target – actually the wall on the west side of Target. Rescuers are working to extricate the driver. It doesn’t appear anyone else was hit. 6:20 PM UPDATE: No serious damage to the Target building – the car took out a relatively small tree; no word yet on how badly anyone in the car was hurt. 6:30 PM UPDATE: The fire response is closed, so this was handled fairly quickly. 7:25 PM UPDATE: Saw the spot after the car was moved away (less than an hour after the first response), no damage to the wall, Target employees were cleaning up.
(photo added 5:44 pm, thanks to Dubster)
ORIGINAL 5:09 PM REPORT: On our way to check. Update: A car is on its side by the Bank of America. Alaska is blocked both ways. 2nd update: 2 cars are involved. At least one person is in a medic unit. Alaska is blocked between 41st and Fauntleroy.
(photo by Christopher Boffoli, same car after it was righted, added 5:56 pm)
5:34 PM UPDATE: The man driving one of the cars involved is unhurt – the woman driving the other car suffered only a minor arm injury, according to police. The wreckage is being cleared but there’s enough broken glass in the road that it may be blocked for a while. We have someone at the scene and will update when it reopens.
(added 6:06 pm — Christopher’s photo of the other car that was involved, whose driver wasn’t hurt at all, according to police
5:36 PM UPDATE: That was fast – Alaska is now reopened westbound.
5:46 PM UPDATE: And Alaska is now open in both directions. So far, no word on how exactly this crash happened, but we’ll be following up. (6:10 pm) Adding one more photo – thanks to Miss Courtney for this one, showing some context on where the crash happened:
Thanks to Vlad for sending that pic a short time ago from the scene of a crash on Harbor Ave, right by the home of West Bay Espresso, Pinup Salon and a few other businesses (here’s a map). The fire call is closed and no medic unit was involved, which means no major injuries; we’ll be checking to see if traffic is back to normal. (By the way, we’ve just added a bit of new info to the end of last night’s story about the 49th/Admiral flipped-car crash.) 11:34 AM UPDATE: We’re at the crash scene and traffic is still slow going – down to one lane right now – so avoid the area for a while.
(see bottom of story for next-day updates)
ORIGINAL 9:41 PM REPORT: There’s an overturned car near Admiral and 48th. It appears to be a single vehicle, overturned in the eastbound lane of Admiral. One person has been taken out of the car and moved to the medic unit. Admiral still blocked in both directions.
9:55 PM UPDATE: The street is being hosed down. So far it appears that the one person removed from the car and taken to the hospital was the only person in the car.
10:06 PM UPDATE: Admiral now open to traffic. The car is off to the side and traffic is moving slowly in both directions.
10:31 PM UPDATE: Just left the scene a few minutes ago; the wrecked car was still there, in the outside eastbound lane just west of 49th. We talked to people at the scene; nobody saw what happened – thanks to the people in the house right over the crash scene for allowing us to share their landing to shoot video of the rescue efforts, which we will add shortly. No word yet exactly why the car crashed, nor do we know the driver’s condition.
ADDED 10:57 PM: That video clip shows the rescue scene just before the man was pulled out of the car and taken to the medic unit by gurney. We’ll add one more showing the car from the other side of the street (11:25 – here’s that clip, from after the man was pulled out:)
And one side note – we’ve noticed at recent crash/crime scenes that red battery-operated lights are used instead of flares – in this case we were close enough to get a little video of them:
MONDAY MORNING UPDATE: Fire Department spokesperson Dana Vander Houwen tells WSB the crash survivor is a 60-year-old man who was taken to the hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries.” We’re about to check with police to see if they have anything more on the investigation. 4:38 PM UPDATE: Detective Jeff Kappel with the SPD media unit says the preliminary – and we stress, preliminary – finding of investigators is that the driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel.
Never thought we’d see the day when rain made news shortly after it started falling. But yes, after a bit of a “shpritz” (as a weather anchor we worked with years and miles ago called it) a few hours ago, it is REALLY raining right now. At least in Upper Fauntleroy!
5:15 PM ORIGINAL REPORT: From Kristine:
I am up at the Southwest Library on 35th and Henderson. There is a three year old white male with blonde hair and hazel eyes with two police officers and no parent or adult. He is dressed in striped blue/yello pants and a green tee shirt. He has been here since 3:45.
We’re on our way over to find out more. Police have been alerted so call 911 or go to the library if this child is yours. 5:32 PM UPDATE: Just talked to one of the officers who were taking the child around the neighborhood in hopes of finding his house – they’ve located the right place and reunited him with his family – seems he wandered off – they’re talking with a parent now.
We’re on the scene of a two-car crash – at least one person is being transported by private ambulance – Delridge is blocked at Trenton right now. No info on how it happened.
(NOTE: As reported at the end of this story, the power was back on by 2-ish.)
(Admiral/California photo by Christopher Boffoli, added 12:46 am)
ORIGINAL 9:17 PM REPORT: Admiral District is out north of PCC, says Diane. We’re checking on it.
9:31 PM UPDATE: In addition to the reports in comments, Creighton e-mailed: “Karate class stopped, people standing outside of Circa. Traffic signals black.” Another phone caller says it started just after 9 as the wind really kicked in. Co-publisher Patrick is driving around the Admiral District to suss the boundaries – he says the southernmost point seems to be right between McDonald’s and PCC, across the street from West Seattle High School – McDonald’s is on, PCC is out.
9:41 PM UPDATE: Going west, we see the power on starting at 51st/Admiral. Seattle City Light says the outage totals almost 3,000 homes and businesses; their boundaries don’t jibe quite with what we are hearing, “cause and restoration are unknown as of this moment,” according to Scott Thomsen on the City Light media line; he’s also sent a news release that says crews are out working on the problem. This is one of three outages in the city right now.
9:48 PM UPDATE: Admiral is also out all the way down the hill to The Bridge, and Avalon is out too – till Genesee, when the lights come back on.
(photo by Christopher Boffoli, looking north from California/Admiral, added 12:53 am)
9:55 PM UPDATE: Patrick reports that parts of Harbor Ave are out, including Salty’s. Power comes on again at 1170 Alki building, he reports, and as he heads west along Alki Ave, no problems so far. (If anybody has an outage-related photo to share, please send, we’re out without a camera.)
10:10 PM UPDATE: Weather note – several people have called our attention to the fact that forecasting star Cliff Mass called the sudden storm turn, with this post headed “All Hell Is About to Break Loose.” Meantime, here’s video we happened to get right before 9 pm – we were on the ferry from Vashon to Fauntleroy, and the wind had kicked up, rain had blown in, all with a spectacular sunset as a backdrop:
No new update from the City Light media team regarding when this’ll be over. In comments, Garrett from the 1200 block of Alki says power’s on but cable’s out.
10:51 PM UPDATE: As discussed in comments, but in case you see this first and wondered, there was a very brief “fire in building” callout in The Junction, closed very fast, so no fire. No word yet of anyone getting their power back. We did get this photo from Colleen at 38th/Admiral – neighbors decided to have a backyard party:
10:58 PM UPDATE: Also among those out of power, so to speak, King County Council Chair Dow Constantine, who’s back home after his official County Executive campaign kickoff event tonight downtown. He says via Twitter re: the outage, “It’s great – for now.”
11:18 PM UPDATE: First, another great photo of the amazing sunset that arrived the same time as the wild weather – this is from Bonnie (taken around the same time as the video we added earlier in this story):
No reports yet of anybody getting their power out – it’s been two-plus hours now for many people – nor is there anything new from City Light on restoration estimate or cause.
12:35 AM UPDATE: Some reports in comments that the power’s back on in various spots. Adding some outage images by WSB photojournalist Christopher Boffoli (including the one below, showing Admiral Safeway). We will follow up later today with City Light re: what exactly caused the outage.
Thanks again to everyone who has shared information – particularly those who called, since this started in a rare moment when we were away from the computer (though always iPhone-equipped, which enabled a quick short initial report) – please keep the WSB # handy, 206-293-6302 – we do answer it 24/7 to make sure we never miss breaking news.
1:32 AM: More power just returned, per Tim in comments, 46th north of Admiral.
2:48 AM: City Light confirmed in a news release that the West Seattle outage was over by 2 am.
(added 12:30 am, video of officers collecting evidence at the shooting scene)
ORIGINAL 11:30 PM REPORT: Police and fire are responding to an “assault with weapons” call in the Westwood Village vicinity. No details yet – monitoring the scanner. We did hear police arriving, saying they found “the victim.” The scanner indicates it was a shooting at the McDonald’s, and police are looking for a “silver Honda” with at least three people inside. We’re heading over to see what we can find out at the scene. 11:43 PM UPDATE: Scanner “be on the lookout” bulletin confirms – it’s a shooting at Westwood Village McDonald’s, “possible suspect vehicle” a silver Accord heading west, four people believed to be inside – described as “black male, Asian male, Hispanic male, Asian female.” No word yet on the victim. 11:54 PM UPDATE: From the scene – The medic unit just left with the shooting victim – IVs could be seen through the window but still no word on age, gender, severity of wounds. (photo by Christopher Boffoli, added later)
We believe we’ve spotted at least one Gang Unit officer at the scene (doesn’t mean it’s gangs for sure but means they’re looking into it – ironic, we were at the gang-violence forum downtown earlier tonight, have not yet written the story). TV crews are on site too. (photo of Gang Unit officer by Christopher Boffoli, added 1:02 am)
12:19 AM UPDATE: From Seattle Police spokesperson Officer Renee Witt: The victim is an adult male shot in the leg, taken to the hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries”; the suspect vehicle is now described as a “gray Honda” with four suspects, and she confirms the Gang Unit is among those on the scene investigating. Photos from the scene shortly.
1:04 AM UPDATE: Adding photos by WSB photojournalist Christopher Boffoli. This one shows the shell casing police found at the scene (Christopher says nearby residents reported hearing one shot):
4:35 AM NOTE: No word of any arrests so far; we will check again with police later in the morning.
(photo from Cathy Woo, added 6:59 am)
Big callout for “fire in single-family residence” at 59th/Charlestown (map). En route to see what’s happening. 6:46 AM UPDATE: Nothing on the scanner; we’re close to the area and not seeing smoke. Should know shortly what the call is/was about. 6:50 AM UPDATE: At the scene, we’ve learned it was a “small deck fire” — out now. When a fire’s reported at a residence, big or small, there’s always a big initial callout just in case, but almost all of it’s been called off here. Thanks to the many people who e-mailed/texted/called with word of/questions about all the sirens.
(video added 4:47 am, wrecked Porsche after it was pulled out of water and up over seawall)
ORIGINAL 2:32 AM REPORT: “Water rescue” call right now in the 1100 block of Harbor Alki Avenue. Here’s what we are hearing on the scanner: Somebody drove into the water and his car — a Porsche Carrera, unless what we are hearing on the scanner is a joke — is about six feet under; divers are going in to make sure the driver’s alone, which is what he has told them. More as we get it. 2:37 AM UPDATE: Divers have confirmed nobody’s in the submerged car. 3:10 AM UPDATE: We’re at the scene – the car really is a Porsche and really is less than 10 yards offshore, underwater; it went over the seawall in the condo zone.
(video added later, best shot we could get of the car, submerged:)
The driver’s been taken to the hospital – the medic unit passed us as we were arriving here about 20 minutes ago (TV crews are here too). Police have reopened the road; City Light’s also here because the car took out a power pole before going over the wall. Now police are strategizing with a tow crew how they’re going to get the car out. 3:54 AM UPDATE: Two police divers are in the water, where they will attach cables from a bigger tow truck that’s come in; we’re with TV crews awaiting the big pullout attempt – might be about 10 more minutes. If you’re seeing this “live,” KIRO does news at 4:30 am so that may be the first place you see video. Lt. Ron Smith has spoken with us at the scene, by the way, and says the driver, in his 50s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center for observation, and will be tested for possible intoxication. (Added later, clip from Lt. Smith’s briefing:)
(this clip also added later) Seattle Fire Department spokesperson Dana Vander Houwen was at the scene for a while too — she explains what SFD rescuers saw and did upon arrival:
4:24 AM UPDATE: The mangled Porsche is out. We’re on our way back to upload video from HQ. 4:59 AM UPDATE: Adding clips, as promised. Atop this post, it’s the car right after pullout; here, the last haul up over the wall:
Also added a few clips in the middle. To fill in one of the blanks: The car was heading north/eastbound on Alki when it “went straight where there’s a curve,” as Lt. Smith put it. As for the driver’s condition, no formal word, but as SFD’s Vander Houwen said, he did NOT have “life-threatening injuries.”
10:28 AM UPDATE: SPDBlotter has summarized the incident briefly with a few additional details: The driver was 54 and is described as having ultimately determined to have been “uninjured”; the item says, “Investigators believe drugs and/or alcohol in addition to speed may have contributed to the collision” (pending test results). Plus, specifics on the car: A 1991 Porsche 911.
11:09 AM NOTE: A comment recalls a deadly crash in the area a few years ago. To be specific – according to this brief item from WSB’s first year – 2 people were killed in September 2006 when their car went into the water across from 1238 Alki, less than a block west of this morning’s crash site.
ORIGINAL 2:47 AM REPORT: Heard Guardian One over our house a few minutes ago, heading north – and in fact, we’ve just received a few notes and a call that the chopper is searching over Alki, and that there’s a ground search too. Haven’t heard exactly what happened but “two white males that jumped (a) fence” are being sought, and the chopper has reported not seeing any hot spots “around the building.” The caller said she’s seeing the activity close to the Alki Tully’s. More as we get it. 2:55 AM: We should mention, for potentially a bit of reassurance, there have been no aid calls in the area, so nothing injurious related to this; we’d been listening to the scanner even before the first phone call of the chopper over Alki (plus several Twitter and Facebook reports too) and hadn’t heard anything dramatic. 3:05 AM: Sounds like Guardian One is “clearing out.” If we’re not able to get any details on the incident here in the wee hours, we’ll update – as always – whenever the details DO become available. 4:05 AM: **NOT** related that we know of, but if you’re still awake in the Alki area after all this, there’s now a fire engine responding to 62nd/Alki for a “rubbish fire” (as real-time 911 puts it). 12:19 PM UPDATE: Just got the details from SPD media officer Mark Jamieson: A break-in or attempted break-in at Alki Elementary. Will post all the details in a separate item in a few minutes. No arrests.
(photo replaced 1:15 pm with better shot of police when Delridge was blocked)
Thanks to those who have e-mailed and called about police, reportedly with guns drawn, at Delridge/Holden. On our way to check out.
12:02 PM UPDATE: Northbound traffic is being turned around at Kenyon a couple blocks south of this scene, and according to the scanner, Delridge also is about to be blocked at Orchard (Arco intersection) – so avoid the area. Because of the roadblock it will take us a few more minutes to get close – just talked to Seattle Police’s media unit and they don’t have much information yet, aside from “We have the SWAT team out attempting to locate some people.”
12:23 PM UPDATE: The “command post” for this is a stone’s throw from the precinct, at Delridge/Webster. But we still have no information on exactly what the search is all about. We’re told a media-unit officer is on the way to deal with us and the rest of the media.
12:47 PM UPDATE: This is winding up and the road is being reopened. Police say they have arrested a male suspect in his mid-20s in a car, and that he is believed to have been involved in a “robbery with force.” SPD is now more actively using Twitter, and described this in a tweet as a “warrant service” in the 7500 block of 21st SW.
1 PM UPDATE: Listening to the short video clip we’re uploading from Officer Renee Witt‘s brief briefing at the scene – the robbery in which the suspect was wanted was a “takeover-style robbery” that she says happened on May 12th. Checking for incidents resembling that description.
1:11 PM UPDATE: Here’s the entirety of what Officer Witt told us and other media at the scene:
2:43 PM UPDATE: Checking back with police, Officer Witt tells us they have NOT confirmed possible reports that someone else might have been involved in the same case, so this arrest closes the search for now.
4:47 PM UPDATE: SPDBlotter has a short item – the only new information is that the suspect’s age is now specified as 24.
10:42 PM UPDATE: Tony Wright took photos at the southwest edge of the “containment zone” during the search. He and we happened to notice that some of the action was outside the same house where we (and he) photographed a Bellevue SWAT team visit a month ago – here’s his photo from today:
We don’t know if the house (where WSB photojournalist Christopher Boffoli also covered a story earlier in the spring) is directly linked to anyone involved in the case.
We have mentioned this in our running updates on the West Seattle Crime Prevention Council meeting, but wanted to post it separately as well. Lt. Steve Paulsen says a “juvenile suspect” has been arrested in connection with the May 1st Alki shooting. He’s still in the middle of general Q/A with the attendees here on a variety of issues, but we will pursue more details ASAP. 8:19 PM UPDATE: The meeting’s over and we just caught up with Lt. Paulsen. Police aren’t releasing any more details right now – the investigation continues – other than the fact the suspect is “a juvenile” with “gang affiliation.” (As previously reported, the 19-year-old shooting victim was known to police as a gang member.) We’ll check tomorrow with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to see if we can find out the suspect’s status – whether charges have been filed, etc.
(replaced original cameraphone photo with this picture, 9:27 am)
Thanks to James for the call on this (206-293-6302 any time): We’re at the scene of a “heavy rescue” call in the 7500 block of 35th SW (map): A car overturned just north of John’s Corner Deli (left background of our cameraphone photo); traffic is getting by, but slowly. 9:04 AM UPDATE: Police at the scene tell us they are still sorting out exactly how this happened; a tow truck is at the scene now to right the flipped car before getting it out of here. We’re told that car’s driver was taken to the hospital; it’s believed to have been on Webster, trying to turn onto 35th, when it collided with a silver Toyota – that car was not as badly damaged and there’s no word of anyone from the Toyota having to go to the hospital. 9:27 AM UPDATE: The scene is clear and traffic’s back to normal. 11:20 AM NOTE: A source confirms the Toyota’s driver was not seriously hurt. No updates on the other driver’s condition so far. ADDED 12:32 PM: Video as the flipped car was pulled back to right-side-up by the tow crew:
Two tipsters report traffic trouble along Fauntleroy in the Fairmount Park area because of a two-car crash – if you have to drive, take an alternate route. Thanks to Ray for the photo. 7:23 PM UPDATE: The scene is clear and traffic is back to normal.
