I also use the track field to run, and I love that I can workout there. However, it doesn’t not feel safe for me to run to the field anymore between the encampment growing where a dog park is planned and what others have mentioned around the the Rotary View Point. One day I had to leave the track sooner than planned because the entrance was being blocked by people with their shopping carts.Even my bus driver recommended that I use another stop besides the one on 35th and Alaska because it is not safe to wait there anymore. How can we support the shelter but also make sure that the surrounding areas remain safe for everyone to use?

One is that I applaud Mr Hughes for his efforts and hope I can help. But the other is that, seeing the increased tent activity in Rotary View Point Park DOES make me angry. I think along with shelter and resourcing, there needs to be some level of accountability and an understanding that you are not allowed to pitch a tent in a public park.
