READER REPORT: Is this mystery trailer yours? (update: resolved)

Lindsey reports this is on her planting strip at 31st/104th in Arbor Heights:

She says the trailer has a watercraft and unsecured paddles plus “various things wrapped in tarps that I’m too afraid to unwrap.” It’s been there since last week. She’s reported it but also hoping posting it might reach the owner(s).

FRIDAY UPDATE: Lindsay commented below that the owner has been found.

I’ve shared this to the Arbor Heights FB group. I think this belongs to a house at the southeast corner of 37th and 108th.

It’s become a practice for construction companies to park their job trailers in neighborhoods away from the job site. There have been a number of big 8’ wide trailers parked on residential streets in Admiral for Alki construction sites. We have one on our block that garbage & UPS trucks have to squeeze by.

It is illegal to park a vehicle over 80″ wide overnight in a residential zone. Call parking enforcement.

I agree with you all over the neighborhood vehicles are being parked illegally. In my neighborhood a large box truck started parking in the neighborhood. The truck has no information to identify who owns it.

Unattached trailers, like the subject of this post, are also illegal.

Thomas: The license plate identifies who owns it. SPD/Parking Enforcement will figure it out.

This is a raft and rowing frame, used for fishing on rivers.  The “thing wrapped in tarps” is the raft.

It’s a white water rafting rig pr drift fishing rig .  The tarps most likely contain the inflatable pontoons.

The rafting gear on that trailer is worth many thousands of dollars, and it would be very unusual for anyone who owns it to leave it unattended and out in the open for anu length of time, let alone abandon it.Very likely stolen.

Was it stolen or just parked there?

      • Thomas October 18, 2024 (12:25 pm)

I’d bet just parked there. It appears to have a wheel lock on it
