THX Sam,  I was about to post the same article.  I’ve preferred transit over cars all my life, but was surprised that riding transit buses is not just “slightly,” but several times safer than driving or riding in cars.  

Instead of speculating wrongly and publicly, you could just look it up. The NIH has studied the topic (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5906382/) and concludes that taking public transportation is dramatically safer both for the rider and for everyone else.

This is a city school bus that is in the accident.  Not sure how it why your comment went where it did. No correlation at all

What’s with the “right wing” statement?  Is that your default when you disagree with someone because it’s foolish, and not based on anything but a power trip.

Far more accidents, bad drivers, road ragers, and violence from cars. At least if you get in an accident on a bus you have a miniscule chance of injury and don’t have to deal with damages. Plus the convenience of having someone driving you around. DC is right. Also never seen anyone smoking fent on the bus. Sounds like more is a right wing talking point than something you’d likely encounter

Between bus accidents and fentanyl smoke I’ll stay in my car thanks. 

I’m for people taking public transit, but I’m not sure this logic adds up. There is even a bus involved in one of the accidents from this story. And I’ve seen injuries on the bus (people falling out of their seat during hard braking. Required an ambulance. There are no seatbelts on buses)So. Take transit. But I wouldn’t describe it as safer than driving. Possibly less safe due to lack of seatbelts.
