@seattlelite No one is panicking. It’s an alert not an emergency. Also it’s easy to have all the answers to it when you are young, well and able bodied. For infants, pets, older adults and the homeless population, alerts can quickly become emergencies. I’m glad the state cares about everyone, not just the well and privileged. 

This is a reference to a rumor that spread through the crowd at the original Woodstock regarding hazardously intense LSD that was ‘brown’. Not sure if that referred to the color of the substrate that it was on or the liquid itself, or if it was a rumor or true, but now you know the origin you can probably better understand Sunshine’s comment. I call it a quip, and an amusing one at that.

What is the brown acid? That is a new one I have not heard about, please issue a full description and warning so we know what to avoid during the hot days ahead.

I spent too many years living in the desert (where Las Vegas currently is 35 degrees hotter than here, 104 to 69) to panic – I complain instead – but wishing you good luck finding ways to be comfortable.

No one’s “panicking” that I know of. However, when the National Weather Service issues an alert, as they do now and then, we publish word of that, whether it’s hot weather, cold weather, windy weather …
