It’s not possible at all. I’m not sure who the guy was that he claimed to talk to but there’s no way the driver could of gotten outta his car. I talked to the lead officer on scene just a few days ago, he said … he’ll be lucky if they can save his leg, it was severely broken from his ankle to about his knee cap. His broken bones and flesh were are intangled in his pants, said it was probably the worst accident/ broken bone(s) he’s seen in 17 yrs on the job. They cut the top off because they had no way of knowing if he had any head/neck/ back trauma so they couldn’t pull him out from the door. I know being in total shock your adrenaline is rushing and sometimes you don’t feel pain … but there is no way that driver got out on his own and was able to stand up on his own, even if it was only for a few minutes.

Rhonda, a zoned neighborhood means residents can pay for permits to park for extended periods while others are limited to two hours. It is a common method used all over seattle to manage parking in areas that draw a large volume of public visitors, like Alki. Folks who don’t live in the neighborhood can still visit it by car and park. And if they increase public transit, people who don’t live in Alki have other ways of visiting the neighborhood for longer periods of time. This is not privatization. It’s normal all throughout seattle. Very common.

Maybe some people need to reconsider what a good time looks like – and leave some of these things at home. Because, let’s be real, a good number of people that do what you’re describing, trash the beach, and leave their coals, burnt wood, and cups and food and everything else, all over the sand. I’m good with them not being able to come by.

The police should be held responsible too.
They blatantly ignore this behavior when they are here during the day and are absent when it’s happening all through the night. They could catch twenty people easily in a night.

My best guess is that the fire department has a set procedure for moving anyone out of a wrecked car who appears to be injured, and they were simply following it rather than asking him to step out of the door.   I too heard him screaming in pain – when they had him prone and were binding his leg ( later confirmed broken) into a brace.
