CONGRATULATIONS! Chief Sealth IHS girls’ wrestling team wins league tournament

Thanks to Joey Richards for the report and photo:

For the 4th season in a row, the Chief Sealth International High School Girls Wrestling Team has taken first place in the Seattle Metro girls tournament.

The team currently has 4 girls ranked top 10 in the state of Washington, and is shooting for a top 10 team placement at the State Tournament at the end of February.

I saw these ladies a couple of weeks ago at the Lakes Tournament.  incredible enthusiasm shown all around.  I went to support another school from Tacoma, but the smiles from these ladies are incredible and I started rooting for them over my niece’s team.  Must commend the coaches also as they always had positive feedback whether the wrestler won or lost.  The coaches are prepping them for Mat Classic now, but these ladies will be ready to leave a legacy in the world after high school!

Congrats!  I agree with comments on the positive vibe coming from the CS wrestling community.    Best of luck to those heading to the states!
