NEXT WEEKEND: Get ready to recycle

img_6602(WSB file photo)

As the new week starts, we’re reminding you again that the next dropoff Recycle Roundup at Fauntleroy Church is less than a week away – Sunday, April 24th. Here’s the list of what will be accepted (note that it changes from event to event, so what you see in our photo above may not match with what’s acceptable this time):

(You can also see the list here, including what NOT to bring.) 1 Green Planet is the church’s partner for the 9 am-3 pm event, which is held rain or shine

Any ideas for someone who has a microwave to recycle, but no car and can’t afford pickup fees?

Never been, but going to this one.. For those who have been, is it something where you need to arrive early before they fill up?  Or anytime is fine?

You don’t need to get there early – they usually have ample capacity, multiple trucks to fill. But organizers have one request: please don’t wait until the last minute, either. It’s a six-hour window so there should be plenty of time to accommodate everyone and finish on time at 3 pm. – TR

I’d like to recycle 3-4 old laptops I have.  When they say “safe, responsible recycling” what does that mean?  What happens to the laptops that are donated?  Will all drives be wiped?

Anonyme, if you post your request on Nextdoor. I’m sure you’ll get a response since neighbors are always willing to help.

Is there anyone going to this event who would be willing to take a microwave, and pickup in Arbor Heights?  Happy to make a donation, but can’t afford the $30 charged by the city.

Sorry, comment time is over.
