THE ART OF MUSIC: Two locations during tonight’s West Seattle Art Walk, 6-7:40 pm:

The Art of Music, presented by the West Seattle Junction Association on upcoming Second Thursday Art Walk Evenings during October through December, returns on October 14th. Performances with free admission begin at 6 pm and will be at two locations: Verity Credit Union (4505 California SW) in the Alaska Junction and Sopranos Antico Pizza & Pasta (2348 California SW) in the Admiral Junction. Can’t participate so can someone ask if the bridge repair has been/will be impacted by supply chain issues. And, with the ship backups will Terminal 5 be getting more/sooner truck traffic which would affect the low bridge.

Deb Barker….. maybe you can ask a question for me too. In the past two weeks there has been more than regular Rail freight traffic and I can only imagine that this will become a more constant thing once T5 opens. That on top of Semi freight traffic I feel like not much is being done to mitigate the impact on surrounding businesses and their employees that have nothing to do with the freight community. And once T5 opens they want to reduce trips Eastbound across the lower Spokane Street swing bridge/Spokane St., Corridor Yet they will not listen to simple solutions that the public suggests to help mitigate freight traffic impacts. At 2:30 every day there will be 600 to 800 employees exiting Harbor Island 90 of those which live in West Seattle are being forced to go that way which will impact the freight traffic and possibly emergency vehicles if that situation arises. I’m not sure why they are not taking this concern very seriously. And every time I ask they say it’s going to be a rough couple of months. So basically they are creating the very problem that they are trying to avoid. Maybe you can get some answers for me.
