3 flu-shot clinics coming up at West Seattle schools, open to all

The Seattle Visiting Nurse Association sent word of three flu-shot clinics at local schools in the next week and a half, all open to the entire community:

Saturday, October 16th at Madison Middle School from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Sunday, October 17th at Chief Sealth International High School from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Sunday, October 24th at Madison Middle School from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Insurance will be required for no-cost immunizations. Most insurance is accepted, including Apple Health, but we are unable to accept TriCare or Cigna.

These clinics are open to the public, and you can register at schedule.seattlevna.com/home/9d20cac8-d510-ec11-b6e6-000d3a57ec4c

The SVNA says the clinics will be held indoors.

Making the flu shot available at no cost to the person receiving it like with the Covid shots should be done!

      You are so correct!

I started the registration process but my insurance (Ambetter) is not listed. FYI for other Ambetter members.

Got ours at Chief Sealth on 10/2 and it was easy peasy!  No wait, just quick name check at the door and there were 5 tables set up ready to jab and they had lollipops!

It’s pretty easy to get your flu shot at QFC or other local pharmacy. You book an appointment online. QFC does take Cigna. (though the staff wasn’t the best on 42nd and Alaska. They first told me I was wrong. They don’t schedule appointments that early. Then looked in the system and there I was. Then they didn’t help me for ten minutes. But all past experiences save this year have been good.

Thanks, the pharmacies I have tried are booked out 3-4 weeks. I got an appointment for Saturday.

It was really easy to schedule a Flu vaccine & a Covid Booster at Safeway. Flu vaccine without Insurance is $86.00. Side effects were like having “The Flu ” for a day or so & arms really sore .

If you happen to have medical appointments coming up, ask at your doctor’s office. I went in for a simple med check a couple of weeks ago and my doc was like, we just got the flu shot in, do you want one now? Super simple, and no paperwork!

Any SPS student can go to one of the Neighborcare School Based clinics, even if the clinic isn’t in their school. They have flu and routine childhood vaccines available. All care is free to students. https://neighborcare.org/clinics/
