WEST SEATTLE WEEKEND SCENE: On the run

Thanks to Mike Munson for the photo from Lincoln Park. Mike reports, “Shoulder to shoulder fishing this morning at Lincoln Park, just north of the pool. Saw several catches. The crowd has been building over the last week — run must be getting strong.” That’s the every-two-year pink-salmon run.

I was walking through that area and saw five salmon caught almost simultaneously by fishermen in one 20 yard stretch.

Yep we saw that this morning. Crowded fishing. Lots of people out. We also saw an Osprey hunt and kill a crow.

I live clise to Lincoln Park and see the same person fly fishing daily. He catches and releases alot of shakers. I think there was a secent run in Fauntleroy Cove this year.

Hmmm wasn’t there just a fecal contamination alert from sewage spilling into this area?

No, there was not. Perhaps you’re thinking of the one south of Alki Point, weeks ago.

Sorry, comment time is over.
