WEST SEATTLE WEATHER: Heat alert

(Saturday night photo by Bill Schrier)

The National Weather Service has our area under an Excessive Heat Watch alert for Wednesday afternoon through Saturday (August 11-14). So far the forecast highs aren’t near what we saw during that historic heat wave in late June, but we could get well into the 90s, and humidity will be elevated enough to make it feel hotter. Read the entire alert here; see the updated forecast here.

Gross. I wish we could bottle-up this weekend’s PERFECT weather for next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

I’m set I got my mother-in-laws sugar free popsicles, I got the guys at work Otter Pops, and we have our AC unit and two Woo-Zoo Fans to keep us cool.

The expected temp’s are lower than the last heat wave and people are better acclimated, what is scary is the potential for smoke from the fires!

Hope senior centers may be better prepared for this heat wave.

This will very soon become the new norm, only much, much worse.  And not fifty years from now, or ten.  Now.

Sorry, comment time is over.
