HIGH-SCHOOL SOCCER: Chief Sealth-West Seattle boys’ rematch

The boys’ soccer teams at Chief Sealth International High School and West Seattle High School have both done well this pandemic-abbreviated season. So a lot was on the line in their rematch at Nino Cantu Southwest Athletic Complex today, one week after Sealth defeated West Seattle 3-2. But today – the Wildcats took the win, 1-0

Another note – as the last home game of the year for the Seahawks, this was Senior Night for Sealth.

(Both schools’ graduations are this Saturday, at Memorial Stadium downtown.)

Agreed, this game had all the elements of a great soccer game. 100 minutes of aggressive play between two well matched teams, followed by intense PKs, right on through to sudden death with the ultimate victory for W Sea. Congrats to two great teams.

Correction West Seattle won by PKs not an official goal scored! Unlucky Chief Sealths #10 wasn’t playing. That kid put on a show the first match against west Seattle !

Congrats to West Seattle and chief Sealth. Both teams played exceptionally.  Correction there  was no score after regulation and two overtimes. PK’s are official. Too bad this was marred by a player getting a well deserved red card.
