For the second time in three days, we’ve received a report of a stolen white Ford van. This one is from Kate:
Our 2001 white Ford e350 conversion van was stolen from the side of our house late Wednesday night or Thursday morning. We live on 35th and Thistle. It was parked on Thistle Street. License plate is MOBI.
If you see it, call 911.
Telling how bold(and stupid)car thieves are. Taking a distinctive vehicle like this is pretty desperate!
Is it possible that Ford vans have low tech security, and very few distinct keys, so that someone with a key might run around looking for a good fit?
I’m so sorry to hear about Mobi! We’ve seen it drive through Highland Park and always admire it. It’s a great van. Hope you get it back!
Report the theft to your auto carrier immediately, along with police reports and other documentation . Check the yards and chop shops (but don’t stick your neck out”. If you find it in a yard, report it to your insurer immediately, but don’t intefere, try to recover, settle or otherwise do the insurer’s job. Get the pros in on it. Find it, and fade back into the background.
