    I surely hope that James Tilley enters his remarkable and rare photo into as many contests as he can. That line up of all 3 birds, all 3 being different, all 3 in separate status and domination and going for the same goal. The added factor of the recent successful rescue and rehab of ‘Bey’ the eagle with the identifying green band and to be able to capture THAT particular bird so soon after her release is beyond awesome composite and a very full story in one photo. Great layering too! Beautiful.

      This particular situation was very fortunate and I came away from the encounter with numerous amazing images of Bey in action.

    But Oooohh,  the poor baby fish!!! Don’t we have to eliminate the eagles to save them?  Where are all my social justice folks?

      Haven’t heard of anybody clamoring to kill eagles to save fish. Other birds, yes. But that was the federal government, not “social justice folks.”

      No, eagles are not the problem, but they are one of the reasons for protecting fish and their habitats!

    Cool photos! The Downy looks like an eastern variety — seems unusual for west seattle.

    WOW just WOW! Thank you to all the photographers who took these pictures and shared them with the rest of us. I needed a nature moment and this helped!! Keep them coming! Also…really happy Bey is doing so well!
