TRAFFIC ALERT: Driver takes out speed sign along Olson Place

Thanks to Collin for the photo and report about a crash “blocking right lane of Olson Place SW and Cambridge st. going uphill toward White Center. Police and incident (response) on scene. Ironically took down the speed limit radar sign; we live on this road and continue to see speed as the contributing factor in this zone, especially with elevated traffic levels due to bridge closure.”

People drive that hill like it’s a race. I avoid it for that reason. It was bad before, but so much worse now.

    What would Sammy Hagar say?

VH opened for Journey on the Infinity Tour so this guy is clearly a Diamond Dave man.

It’s uncouth to place someone’s license plate on full display. Protect the driver’s privacy at least. The blog should edit the picture. Why is the blog displaying private state data?

A license plate is private? I guess it’s a good thing nobody drives around in public displaying it everywhere they go.

      Guess you were the driver:(

I think it’s time to start enforcing speeding tickets on this road (both directions) with motorcycle officers. Most go 40 mph uphill…we can barely get off of our 3rd Ave SW dead end street sometimes

I hear you Paul and agree.  I am glad you at least have a turn lane to turn into making a left. I have been working with SDOT on some improvements, fought for that darn radar sign- and they have indicated they plan to add high-grip asphalt. The accident stats on this road are some of the highest in the city, so if you happen to witness something, be sure to report it.

    I love irony.

If they really want to slow people down,  they should put one of those cameras out that takes photos and then sends tickets.

Drove that section about 5:30 pm yesterday and the road was slick from all the oil build-up and yes  my backend wiggled a bit.  Yes I was going the speed limit, yet others do not as stated by the person living near by.

And the irony of this all is I’d say 85% of these drivers going over the speed limit live in WS and not the neighboring neighborhoods. Who’d of thunk it!

I guess I’m officially an old man as I drive slow (speed limit or less) and have people on my tail all the time. Unless you’re police or EMS what difference are a few seconds gonna make? Yeah,I was young and full of piss and vinegar once but now I’m old and slow. But… I’m still here.

Sorry, comment time is over.
