TRAFFIC ALERT: Crashes on Sylvan Way

Thanks for the tips and photos. Avoid Sylvan Way right now – there are two crashes, one near Sylvan Ridge, one near the Forest Lawn (WSB sponsor) funeral home. In the former, the driver appears to have hit a tree; our tipsters say that’s the secodn driver vs. tree(s) crash on Sylvan in less than a week.

Hitting a fixed object on a 25mph road in daylight should be a reckless driving + loss of license.the 5+ police involved will likely shrug it off as a mistake and no repercussions will be felt.

Tree-based crash anywhere near the bumpy road resulting from this past weekend’s utilities work?

No, the SPU work was further down the hill.

The reason there aren’t tougher penalties for drivers is that too many drivers DON’T want them and DON’T demand they be enforced. Why? Because they’re not perfect drivers and don’t want to be held accountable. They only want “those other” drivers cited.

I’m sure this is somehow SDOT’s fault

But there were flashy-flashy speed limit signs! How could they have taken out yet another tree?!

Sorry, comment time is over.
