Water work south of The Junction

If you’re hearing construction-type noise – there’s a Seattle Public Utilities crew working on a water problem at California/Dawson, just south of The Junction. We haven’t heard from anyone whose water service has been affected, but did get a couple tips about the SPU crew (thank you).

They are working directly in front of the Granada Condos on California Ave SW. Our water was shut off soon after the crew arrived and still is off. It appears to be a broken pipe.

The crew showed up around 10pm and continued to work until 9am. If you lived within a two block radius you could hear all the drilling, digging and equipment throughout the night.

Yep they started at 10 pm Saturday night digging up the street. This has gone on all night long. If you live within a two block radius you must have been kept awake for most of the night.

Update: the water is back on at the Granada. Hats off to the SPU crew who pulled a spectacular all nighter to get it done!

Not saying they didn’t do a great job but I live right in front of the roadwork and our apartment shakes every time a bus goes by. Our building did not shake before the roadwork.

The water from my faucets today looks muddy.  Is this why?  Should they be notifying people in West Seattle to boil their water or not to drink it??

If you’re near that area, yes, water breaks often stir up “sediment” (which is usually rust). Please report it to SPU just in case – 206-386-1800.

Sorry, comment time is over.
