TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Wednesday notes; 11th week of West Seattle Bridge closure

6:03 AM: Good morning – the 72nd morning without the high-rise West Seattle Bridge. If you’re headed out – here are the cameras for the 5-way intersection at West Marginal/Delridge/Spokane/Chelan, and the restricted-access low bridge:

The main detour route across the Duwamish River is the 1st Avenue South Bridge (map) – here’s that camera:

The other major bridge across the river is the South Park Bridge (map) – this camera shows the SP-side approach:

Check the @SDOTBridges Twitter feed for info about any of those bridges opening for marine traffic.

You can see all local traffic cams here; locally relevant cameras are also shown on this WSB page.

Thank you for all your efforts on keeping us up to date, WSB. Love ya.

Apologies if I missed this, but have there been any updates as to the rate of growth that they are seeing in the “cracks”?  Seems like we shut down VERY quickly because the rate of growth was so rapid.  How have they grown over the last 70+ days?  Found something from April but nothing recent. Without committing to a repair vs replace it would still be a good data point to know……  Thanks

All I recall hearing was something vague like that the cracks have continued to grow, but at a slower rate than just prior to the closure. I don’t recall hearing any actual numbers, though. That data would be interesting to see.

Saw a 21X running through Arbor Heights again last night.  Mind-boggling how this can continue to happen.  Why bother canceling routes if taxpayers are still paying for unscheduled (and therefore empty) buses to run?  If anything, bring back the #22 as AH is completely isolated at this point.

Love that their is exactly the same photo from West Marginal Way on both 4 and 5 June.  Those drivers are very very predictable

The image address is the newest frame from the live camera so you could look right now at a dozen days or a hundred and they would show you the same thing.

Sorry, comment time is over.
