GRATITUDE: Bridge Park resident’s daughter says ‘thank you’

Residents at senior-living complex Bridge Park in West Seattle’s High Point neighborhood have been in isolation because three were diagnosed with COVID-19. So one resident’s daughter asked us to publish her request for people to consider brightening the shut-in seniors’ lives – maybe with chalk art, or (solo) music … and people responded! She sent these photos and a note: “Such a bright and beautiful response to the blog post about Bridge Park! Thanks neighbors for spreading joy during this time. – Michele Nelson (and my mom Mary Lee)”

Bridge Park is at 3204 SW Morgan, with more than 100 residents.

My mother is Mary Lee’s neighbor and she called me today to tell me about the chalk art. They are callI g each other internally to have them look outside. Let’s keep this up. Thank you so much. They have at least another week until the lockdown is lifted at which time it is not recommended for them to leave. Pour some sunshine onto them.

I love this!! What else can we do for them? I wish I could sing, maybe someone can from the sidewalk? Other ideas to keep them going?

My sister took my daughter to do chalk art there a few days ago. Our grandmother is a resident. It’s lovely to see more people coming out to bring joy to the isolated residents.

My sister lives at Bridge Park, she has enjoyed receiving care packages. Staff will deliver them. Don’t forget the staff, they have been working so hard to keep the residents happy. We sent them pizza and it was appreciated.

Sorry, comment time is over.
