    Why?!  We have no snow.

    • WSB January 13, 2020 (5:48 am)

Because SPS has to make decisions on a citywide level – it can’t change opening times (etc.) school by school – and some other areas of the city DO have snow.

Icy roads. Two-hr delay allows for a little warm up. Also, just because *we* don’t have snow doesn’t mean somewhere else in the district doesn’t. Being such a sprawling district faces that as one of its disadvantages. The good news is there is no make-up required for two-hr delay days.

Does anyone know why SPS apparently refuses to print snow routes for school buses online? Hell if I can find them…

Hope this helps: “These snow routes are automatically assigned and communicated to qualifying families by the SPS Transportation Department. Parents may call 206-252-0900 to identify their snow route.”

SPS doesn’t make bus route information public.  They only provide a stop location to families with a kid that qualifies for transportation.  They mailed out snow route information in November via snail mail for families to keep for reference.  If you didn’t get it or accidentally tossed it, I’d email transdept@seattleschools.org or ask another family with a kid that gets on/off the bus at the same stop as yours.

    Any word on Summit Atlas?

    • WSB January 13, 2020 (6:11 am)

No, sorry. We haven’t heard from them about anything in a long while, which is unfortunate.

Just got word- they follow SPS closures in regard to weather.

        • WSB January 13, 2020 (6:38 am)

          Thank you.

    Any news about Kennedy?

  • Ws January 13, 2020 (8:29 am)

Is anyone else getting Kent updates as well as SPS on their phone?

The view in the Lafayette area.

Sorry, comment time is over.
