Been sitting at lower bridge for 15 mins and not moving. What’s going on?

They added an idiotic bus lane 99N.

        Maybe try taking public transit.

That’s the problem – buses are impacted too!  The pro/con for public transportation in negligible.

It’d take me an hour and half to get to where I’m going on public transportation, when prior to the bus lane going in it took me 20 minutes driving. Also, I need to have the availability to go to different sites as the day goes on. Public transportation is not feasible for me. Thanks though.

Would love to, but I live nowhere near the bus on one end, and the buses go nowhere near my job on the other end, and need to make multiple stops on my commute, including daycare to dropoff an infant (if you can figure out how to transport a baby 3 miles without a car when the closest bus stop is a 30 minute walk, and then get to work in the burbs where the buses don’t go close to, let me know). So until seattle has a robust public transit system like NYC where I came from (I fully support this!), I’ll be forced to drive to avoid a 4 hour round trip commute per day. So yes, I’d like a system to works for everyone, which prioritizes public transit without overly punishing drivers.

Too many SOVs clogging the streets.

Lower bridge was closed at that time, but the twitter feed for sdotbridges wasn’t updating anyone.

Relating to the topic last week on bus stops being removed along California Ave the 50 which does run on weekends will be significantly delayed by this reroute easily 10 minutes or more

    • Seriously? December 4, 2019 (3:31 pm)

I’d like a beakdown of the cost for removing the suggested stops – especially since the ones mentioned in the Admiral District were just installed less than a year ago. The one at PCC is on the list – it just opened about two weeks ago.

They are removing stops at intersections with signals and/or flashers and leaving others with poor lighting and vidibility of pedestrians.  Poor planning.

Tsurly. You may not be impacting commute traffic but everytime you’re in your car or motorhome YOU are adding to traffic.  Where does your “holier than thou” attitude come from? What’s YOUR response to those pointing their fingers at you as you’re adding to evening/weekend traffic.

    • CAM December 4, 2019 (5:46 pm)

The point is it’s kind of hypocritical to complain about traffic as you are sitting in your car creating it. Not that no one should drive. It’s kind of like complaining that you hate drinking cold coffee as you stand there progressively dropping ice cubes into your mug.

    • Tsurly December 4, 2019 (5:47 pm)

Yeah I rarely contribute to traffic when I drive a few times a month, but the difference is that I admit and own that. I don’t come on WSB frothing at the mouth trying to pass the blame onto SDOT, WSDOT, cyclist and their bike lanes, transit, blah, blah, blah.

Sorry, comment time is over.
