WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: High Point hit-run

7:26 PM: Busy night for police. Now they’re on a reported hit-run at 35th/Morgan, with a possible suspect/vehicle located a few blocks east, according to radio communication. Avoid that stretch of Morgan for a while.

7:58 PM: Police have 1 person in custody.

Multiple cars damaged counted 3 for sure. Not door ding damage. Like totaled out.

Thank you SPD for all the work you do.  Even if the Seattle City Council won’t support you, a lot of the citizens do.

Not true,  Herbold got reelected.  People here like to give lip service but like what’s going on

Was that gunshots near Fairmont park about 20 minutes ago?

    • WSB November 10, 2019 (8:28 pm)

911 got a few reports of possible gunshots, but I haven’t heard of any evidence being found so far (shell casings, property damage).

I live next to the park and heard it as well. 4 “bangs”. Didn’t sound like gunfire but I’ve only heard it at a gun range with earmuffs on so I’m not an expert! I can tell you there have been zero cops responding.

      • WSB November 10, 2019 (9:07 pm)

They were dispatched to check. However, more pressing events keep happening – right now, for example, a shooting in Highland Park with a victim.

Completely understand. I just never heard any sirens which tend to echo around this area.

If someone had reported seeing a person firing a gun – or if there had been a victim reported – you would have heard sirens. Same with, for example, burglaries – if someone calls in saying a burglar is in a house/business right now, it’s lights and sirens, but if they got home and discovered someone had broken in hours ago and long gone, generally not. – TR

            Okey dokey!

I heard the loud reports around 8PM from 42nd and Dawson.  They were large firecrackers, not gunshots. I’m a veteran and have a lot of experience hearing gunfire from both ends of firearms.

Heard it at Whole Foods. Definitely sounded like gunshots.

I was also in the area at that time. I heard what sounded like 3 gunshots a pause and then 2 or 3 more. I wonder if maybe it was fireworks being set off at the park due to the soccer team winning. Sounds like people closer thought it sounded more like guns. Hopefully it’s just a false alarm.

We assumed they were firecrackers. People tend to set them off randomly throughout the year in this area.

Two cars hit on SW Raymond b/w 35th and 36th by late model dark Volvo wagon.
