When is the big boat coming back?

  • Elisa November 7, 2019 (7:37 am)

The backup to get on 99 is pretty bad

  • Westresident November 7, 2019 (7:49 am)

Really bad traffic, backed up all the way on Avalon and harbor..What is going on

  • Westresident November 7, 2019 (8:17 am)

Traffic is insane, this report seems outdated.

    • sam-c November 7, 2019 (9:10 am)

Yeah it was really bad this morning.  At Delridge, eastbound Andover was backed up beyond the Health Club, and westbound Andover was backed up beyond its intersection with 21st Ave SW.

Hey Zimbabwe! Thanks so much for the double white lines. Traffic is moving great this morning; only stacked all the way up Avalon…

    • TSurly November 7, 2019 (9:57 am)

Full speed down that separated, smooth Avalon bike lane at 0730.

      • Quora November 7, 2019 (1:21 pm)

        Cool story.

        • Tsurly November 7, 2019 (5:24 pm)

Cool AND consistent, the same comment from me every time I post. A little extra effort results in an unobstructed (except when the low bridge opens) and predictable commute. I will be sure to email Zimbabwe and thank him for the new infrastructure.

What is up the C line? Every bus scheduled for the next half hour is delayed.

  • WSEA November 7, 2019 (9:36 am)

Seems like a lot of cars are taking Alaska to maybe perform some reconnaissance before the 99 tolling.   I’m curious how this is going to play out next week.

    • Ak Junction Girl November 7, 2019 (11:23 am)

I would like to know what is up for the C line too. I waited 20 minutes at the Alaska Junction for the C line to downtown. When the bus came it’s signage said “To Terminal”. The driver said it was the C line, but that his instructions were to drop off his passengers and then return to the terminal. When I got downtown I saw another RapidRide that was headed to the terminal. It appears RapidRide buses are being pulled from service.WSB – do you have contacts to find out how long this will be happening?

If this is continuing, please let me know. Otherwise, sounds like some sort of temporary problem? But if it’s experienced again I’d be happy to ask.

Not related to today’s commute, but is there any word as to whether the water taxi will run on Sunday for the MLS Cup?  Since they’re on the Fall/Winter schedule, they’re not typically running.  I’m hoping I can park as far away from the CLink as possible, since only about 70,000 people will be converging on it.

    • WSB November 7, 2019 (11:56 am)

Generally not but given how big this is, I’ll ask anyway.

  • Matt P November 7, 2019 (11:12 am)

If you think this is bad, just wait until next week when the tolling starts and the rain is back.

  • Barking November 7, 2019 (3:23 pm)

    Thank’s for the update tsurly.

  • not sure ? November 7, 2019 (7:57 pm)

I kinda feel like I should start smugly describing my commute everyday, telling people they should just work in West Seattle, like I do, and their commute will only take 15 minutes every day, no matter what.

    • TSurly November 8, 2019 (8:17 am)

You should until your some of your neighbors own up to being part of the traffic problem rather than passing the blame on everyone else.

      • cwit November 8, 2019 (11:16 am)

Serious question – how’s that been working out?

        • TSurly November 8, 2019 (1:33 pm)

I’m playing the long game, hopefully wear people down by persistently pointing out the facts. It is very low effort, a few seconds per post. I also have plenty of time to do it because I’m not choosing not to be stuck behind the wheel of a car every day.

          • Cwit November 9, 2019 (9:35 am)

I’m skeptical your methodology will have any converts but I do get a kick out of your comments.

Sorry, comment time is over.
