2-car fender bender with stopped cars on left lane of Eastbound WS Bridge just prior to Delridge Way merge.

Please move your cars to a safe place out of the lane if they are driveable!  These looked ok to drive and probably no injuries.

      • WSB October 22, 2019 (9:11 am)

An aid car was sent so apparently someone *was* hurt.

      • JTM October 22, 2019 (9:30 am)

The car that did the rear-ending looked pretty beat up. The front end was completely crumpled.

Disabled semi on the I90 eastbound ramp from 4th ave. Morgan Jct to 4th ave, super quick…..4th ave to I90 super slow. I suspect it will have some negative effects soon for the folks taking 4th Ave northbound.

Traffic amazingly bad for my carpool leaving Gatewood at 7:40am.  The approach to the Bridge from Fauntleroy was backed up to Fairmount Park Elementary.  Drivers engaging in risky moves (speeding up bus lane and cutting people off causing lots of braking), u-turns, general acts of desperation.

Thank you for carpooling, you are part of the solution!!

I can see the pedestrian overpass over Fauntleroy at Andover from my house. Three emergency vehicles just went by Eastbound on Fauntleroy and apparently stopped at the wreck mentioned above (I cannot see that far, but they did not continue past that onto bridge, which I can see…just can’t see the actual corner).

    • WSB October 22, 2019 (8:59 am)

There was a shortlived full-response fire call at 8:25 in Fauntleroy. Completely closed very fast.

  • Morgan J October 22, 2019 (8:58 am)

Massive fire and ambulance response headed south of Morgan Junction at 8:25. Six+ fire trucks and multiple ambulances.

    • WSB October 22, 2019 (9:11 am)

That was the short lived fire call I mentioned. Closed totally, all units canceled, very quickly.

Traffic would mive so much better if people just used the entire space prior to the bus lane on 99 to merge. Of course, it would be better period if there was no bus lane at all.

    • Little One October 22, 2019 (11:49 am)

Not sure I agree about completely ditching the bus lane, but I DO agree with using the whole allotted merge lane. Unless you have a chance to merge sooner and more easily, it is better to go to the far merge point in heavy traffic. That said, I saw two vehicles (including a van pool) merge across the solid double lines and I myself was honked at when I merged at the (new) very end of the lane. The car that honked proceeded to drive ahead in the bus only lane. Can we please find a model city with reasonable driving rules that we can agree on using?

  • Mto October 22, 2019 (2:51 pm)

Of course the traffic would be better for everybody, van pool, buses, car, if we got rid of the bus lane on 99 north..Call Sam Z like I do everyday.  Push him to get rid of it!!!

The traffic this morning was awful, yes the accident on the bridge at Admiral  did not help . No ability to merge to the right lane, to wait in line to get to NB 99, this back up  started back at the steel plant. This was after the accident when the bridge was relatively flowing. The NB 99 merge with dbl white line now makes it worse having to do 2 left lane changes to get over.  Another mess.  This was just a  basic  work and weather day, what happens next. The commute was well over an hour to downtown. Those of us that cannot take the bus. I guess 4th ave into the City is the next step.

40 minutes from Fauntleroy ferry terminal to Harbor island this morning at 8 am.  Would love to take transit, but there are no bus stops on Harbor Island – nearest one is the 21 just east of Avalon or over on 1st Avenue somewhere…

I’m fortunate that I am able to shift my workday to 7:00am. Traffic at 6:30 is reasonable (for this city) and buses are full but not overly packed. If I oversleep slightly and am running just 15 minutes late, my commute time doubles. I feel for everyone commuting during “rush hour”.

Sorry, comment time is over.
