There was also a WSDOT notice last Thursday that stated,”SR 99 tunnel maintenance closure All lanes of the
southbound SR 99 tunnel will close from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to 8
a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, for routine maintenance.”Any word if this is still on, too?

I saw that in one spot some days back but it is not mentioned on the page I linked.

Why close the entire roadway, there is a exit prior to the tunnel entry?

I really hope they fix the street lights while it is closed.

Just curious, will this be a common occurrence going forward with the new tunnel?  It seems that there have been quite a few closures since the tunnel opened.

With the toll on the tunnel about 1 month away, has there been any updates on WSDOT’s “pay as you go” capable toll system?  I have my sticker but have been waiting on activating.——https://sdotblog.seattle.gov/2019/05/02/get-a-free-good-to-go-pass-for-the-sr-99-tunnel/

Or, wait until this summer to open your new account in WSDOT’s new Good To Go! system, which will not require a $30 pre-paid balance!

good question Chemist; I also have my Good to Go sticker, but don’t want to deposit $30 into an account that I may rarely get to use, especially if they keep having closures on weekends, the only time I need the tunnel to get to my jobs

this is so annoying, so many weekend closures; the only time I need to use the tunnel for my job is weekends, so why should I bother getting a Good-to-Go pass?  please fix all the problems this time over the full weekend closure, then keep the tunnel open, or I’ll have to join all the tunnel-haters and use surface streets to get to my jobs in Magnolia/Queen Anne/Ballard; jeesh

Sorry, comment time is over.
