WEST SEATTLE SUMMER FEST: 3 stages!

This year’s West Seattle Summer Fest is just two days away, Friday through Sunday in the heart of The Junction! And this year’s festival has three stages, as the map above shows – the big one at the north end (CA), the Community Stage at Junction Plaza Park (CS), and another stage at the south end (SS), focused on wooden-instrument music. Here’s the list of what performances/presentations are happening where/when:

Events include more than music – on Sunday at noon, for one, we’ll be moderating one of your last looks at the District 1 City Council candidates before primary voting begins next week. Meantime. our Summer Fest previews continue later today and you’ll find lots of info right now on the festival-presenting West Seattle Junction Association‘s website. Festival hours are 10 am-8 pm Friday and Saturday (with music running later) and 10 am-5 pm Sunday. Remember the streets close tomorrow (Thursday) night around 6 for setup – and that means it’s Summer Fest Eve, with lots of reasons to come down and wander, so watch for that preview this afternoon too!

Who knows. It does have a change of decor in the windows, we noticed while driving by a couple hours – now a giant all-facade sign promoting a City Council candidate.

Doesn’t everyone know by now it’s been operating as a speakeasy for the last few years?

Are hey keeping loud bands off the one in the park this year like last year?I can’t tell what they are by the names, the stages is feet from our building and right under where my place is, year before last when they had some with Heavy base and amps shook my place for hours….Really hoping those names are speakers. ><The noise is bad enough for those days facings cali/Alaska and being by the park without hours of shaking . :(

I don’t know the genres of the performers. The park is definitely being programmed differently, however, as Sustainable West Seattle’s GreenLife has moved to the August Delridge Day. Only “speakers” I recognize for certain are us & the candidates on Sunday afternoon – TR

Thank you so much for the reply, area has been really bad latley with noise in general :/ so I’m admittedly a bit more on edge.

It’s nearly 11pm on a weeknight and music is blaring from California Ave. I know *most* people live a bit further from the sound, but was the proximity of residential buildings not accounted for when planning the timing of these loud activities??? Apartment dwellers need sleep too!

This isn’t the festival. As covered in a separate story, it’s night-before unofficial merriment. I don’t know of anyone who had live music scheduled outside this late, though.

I called this in too, could hear it from over a block away, shook my place and they kept turning it up, I have a feeling it was the people setting up. >.>

Sorry, comment time is over.
