UPDATE: 2 West Seattle power outages

9:15 PM: Thanks to Robert for the tip: 119 customers are out of electricity in Upper Alki. Robert says a “loud bang” preceded the outage. No cause listed yet. Checking the SCL outage map, we also note a 19-customer outage in The Junction blamed on “equipment failure.”

11:23 PM: Map indicates the Alki-area outage has been resolved.

Interesting?  SCL website says my area is out.  Waite/ Garlough area.  We still have power and no evidence of ever losing it.

Just heard 2 loud booms by Me Kwa Mooks park…. anyone know if they’re related or were they fireworks?

Neither power outage is near there so I would suggest calling 911 if you haven’t already.

Thanks for the reply. Heard sirens shortly after you replied, must’ve been fireworks, hopefully no damage or fires!

Stoplights were out in parts of Alaska Junction. Thankfully no accidents.

Heard the three sets of loud booms as well in North Admiral. 1 to 3 each time and about 10 minutes apart. Last one was felt through the floor in my home. Couldn’t see any fireworks, but that seemed most similar in noise.

They seem to be working on things in the alley behind Matador.

Sorry, comment time is over.
