West Seattle weekend scene: Summer starts at the beach

Thanks to David Hutchinson for the photo – instead of the sunset from Alki, this time it’s a view of who’s on Alki at sunset. Busy night, as he observed. With the temperature expected to be in the 70s tomorrow, Memorial Day evening is likely to bring a crowd too.

I wish the cops would enforce impeding. Looky lous are causing a dangerous situation by driving the entire stretch of alki at 10-15mph.  If you wanna enjoy the sites, pull over.

People should drive slow. There are loads of people out, loads of crosswalks, loads of cars that obscure the view of crosswalks.  People complain of fast drivers, now you’re complaining of slow drivers in an area with heavy foot traffic. This is crazy. When I drive Alki – at the speed limit – people tailgate me and stack up. Everyone just needs to take a breather and slow the eff down.  Happy to hear at least some are doing that.

Sorry, comment time is over.
