All of that inconvenience for the Rote 37 riders (and drivers), as well as anyone stuck behind the bus, or that simply normally commutes through there,  caused by someone parking their car in a No Parking zone. —Mike

Agreed.  Came to say this exact thing.  If that driver wasn’t ticketed based on this photo alone it’s a real slap in the face to a lot of people.

Yeah, looks like that car should have been towed.

Absolutely, and the fact that it stopped a bus and probably didn’t get either is why this type of thing will continue to happen.  Simple things like this will improve traffic flow and is way more reasonable than billions in future infrastructure.

    Simple solution… ticket & tow.

Does anybody know the details on the stuck 37?

The 2011 Streetview shows the old stop sign/stop bar location that clearly prohibited parking in that space.  Old stop bar paint is slightly visible in 2018 Streetview.  Not so clear since the intersection was remodeled since the 30 foot distance to stop sign might be satisfied plus the 5 feet from driveway.  Maybe worth a bit more curb paint and/or sign.

Riding the 37 is a ‘maybe/sometimes’ deal. It’s so unreliable that it’s reliably unreliable. If you ride it you’ll need a plan B to get to work – and use it often.

Craig, that is the reason I feel especially bad for the 37 riders;  not only does it seem to be right up there among the routes that get trips canceled, but service, in general, has been severely and repeatedly cut back in the past 1-2 decades from when it was an all-day route. Even a route that replaced part of it, the 53 which, IIRC, had all-day or most-of-the-day service, was canceled some years back. —Mike
