1 to hospital after Sunrise Heights crash

1 person was taken to the hospital by private ambulance after that crash near (corrected) 30th and Holden this evening. The street was blocked off because a power line came down with the streetlight after the driver hit the pole.

That’s where the dispatch was but my photographer said 32nd so that’s what I used. Tried to check via Street View but that was no help. So that’s the corner of 30th/Holden?

That house is on the 30th, just S of Holden.  You can match up the real estate listing from the photo to verify.

Definitely is 30th and Holden.  Interestingly enough, I ran on that exact sidewalk at about 7:45 pm tonight, and didn’t notice anything amiss.  So car, power lines, and pole were all cleaned up by then.  I must not have noticed that it was a bit darker there than normal!

The female driver of this car racked up dozens of infractions and criminal charges before this accident – there were a bunch more camera violations in 2015, but I ran out of patience copying and pasting from the ridiculously obtuse Seattle Muni Court portal. It boggles the mind why somebody this dangerous and reckless is allowed to own a car.  I also wonder how many diversion programs she took advantage of leading up to this crash.  The criminal justice system in Seattle is a joke, and “Vision Zero” will always be a joke so long as the city and courts allow this small percentage of terrible drivers to keep driving.  When a criminal uses a weapon in a crime, do we give him his gun back right after he’s caught?  No? Then why do people like this get their cars back after dozens of infractions, criminal charges and court hearing no-shows???Again, this is only a portion of the white Lexus driver’s recent record leading up to yesterday’s crash:04/26/2016   NO VALID DRIVERS LICENSE VALID ID05/21/16   DRIVING W/O MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE06/24/2016   VEH LIC PLTS EXPIRED OVER 2 MONTHS – DRIVING W/O MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE04/21/2017 LICENSE, DRIVER, SUSP./REVOKED THIRD DEGREE – DRIVING W/O MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE  VEH LIC  – PLTS EXPIRED OVER 2 MONTHS11/13/2017 CHARGE (LICENSE, DRIVER, SUSP./REVOKED THIRD DEGREE) DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE  NEGOTIATED PLEA12/13/2017   SPEED, SCHOOL CROSSWALKS CAMERA VIOLATION (COLLECTIONS)05/02/2018   SPEED, SCHOOL CROSSWALKS CAMERA VIOLATION (COLLECTIONS)08/16/2018    LICENSE, DRIVER, SUSP./REVOKED THIRD DEGREE03/11/2019 DEFENDANT FAILED TO APPEAR FOR SCHEDULED HEARING03/15/2019     NEGLIGENT DRIVING 2ND DEGREE / NO VALID OPER LICENSE WITH VALID ID

Nothing will happen until that driver kills someone. Even then, the punishment will be minor.

Sorry, comment time is over.
