Yes, the West Seattle Farmers’ Market is on today

Just in case you were wondering – yes, the West Seattle Farmers’ Market is happening today as usual, 10 am-2 pm in the heart of The Junction. The SDOT cam above even shows the setup under way. However, as mentioned last night and noted on our non-business cancellations/postponements list, the city’s planned info booth about the 48th/Charlestown park site will be rescheduled for a TBD date.

ADDED 12:32 PM: A very small Farmers Market – no produce except potatoes and microgreens. But it’s a good day for frozen purchases – meat and soup!

Hmmm…seems like a “snow plan” (old BofA lot) might have been in order today since California is a main street drivers might count on being clear before the next snowfall.

I see the Polar Plunge has been cancelled due to POLAR conditions?  It seems conditions are exactly what the event name implies!

The detours around the farmers market are completely clear and have been all day. No need to take icy side streets.

Any word on the Admiral Theater?  Assuming since they don’t answer, they’re not opening.  It would be nice if businesses updated their voice mail greetings!

Stay indoors and watch a movie don’t go outside unless you absolutely have to

    • Blbl February 10, 2019 (4:13 pm)

The theater was open when I went by a couple hours ago.

Agree with others that closing California today was a stupid decision.  For that?

    • KM February 10, 2019 (4:18 pm)

It’s closed every Sunday. On a Sunday where people should be driving less than usual, why not prioritize those on foot? I wish closures happened more frequently.

Thank you to the vendors who were able to make it to West Seattle today.

Curious how anyone was actually impacted by the regular Sunday closure of California. Walked to the market and all the main roads in the vicinity were just fine so those posts sound like armchair sour grapes. Was underwhelmed by the job Junction merchants did clearing off sidewalks. There were plenty of stretches that were still covered with snow and ice.

    Sour grapes? Me…
