BIZNOTE: Former Alki Tully’s to become Harry’s Beach House

10:59 AM SUNDAY: The “for lease” sign has been down for a bit but there’s been no hint of what’s ahead for the former Tully’s at 2676 Alki Avenue SW – until now. A “site plan” has just showed up in city files. The early-stage plan is for remodeling the space into a “new eating and drinking establishment” that the document names as “Harry’s Beach House.”. What’s on file also notes that the siding and windows will be replaced, but the alterations otherwise are interior only. That’s all the info so far. It’s been 11 months since the Alki Tully’s suddenly closed, part of a wave of other closures around the area, followed by legal action for eviction a few weeks later.

EARLY MONDAY: In finest community-collaborative-news style, more information has unfolded in the comment discussion – thanks to Will o Wisp saying he’d learned of an affiliation with Harry’s Fine Foods on Capitol Hill, we found a clue, that Todd then confirmed.

Can’t find any evidence yet of who, at least via a wide variety of searching (LLCs, business licenses, etc.). As you might be aware, Harry’s Chicken Joint, in a cryptic announcement on social media some weeks back, suggested they would be ending that business sometime in the not-too-distant future, but that notice (on which I have yet to obtain elaboration) said “no spinoffs.” – TR

I met someone from the new business, he said that the new bisiness was associated with Harrys on capital hill. I told him how slow business was in the off season he claimed that they new the situation.

  Thanks to WOW’s comment, I think I’ve found a clue (of course I’m also sending a formal inquiry) – the backstory on Harry’s Capitol Hill website mentions the same architect who’s on the site plan for the Alki site. (Not one I’ve encountered before in all these years of coverage, so probably not a coincidence.) – TR

Hmm…… I was hoping a sushi. another tourist chasing fast food joint will fail. Or close 6 mo out of the year. You need a place where locals will come year round because food and service are good will make it here.

If it’s a spin off of Harry’s Fine Foods that would be a DREAM for West Seattle. It’s about time we got a fantastic spot on Alki. It won’t disappoint, I’m sure of it!

I live on Alki and would absolutely support a good restaurant year-round. Right now there is nothing down here that I would spend my dining-out dollars on. Based on the reviews from their Cap Hill location, I am excited!

Yay, glad to hear a new business will be joining the neighborhood… it’s been getting a bit TOO quite since Phoenicia shut down! I hope this Harry’s place can thrive and survive through the seasons, and us locals can rally together and to support these local business when able… instead of complaining that we need XYZ else.

This is fantastic news. Harry’s is a great spot and anything similar will be a boon for all of West Seattle. Finally a place on Alki you can go for a date.

Great patio at that former Tully’s spot. This patio will be a draw in the spring and fall months because it is sheltered from the wind and catches the sun mid-day to afternoon, which is rare for outdoor dining on Alki (most face north except Cactus and West Seattle Brewery). I would love some draft beer on that patio. Don’t they need to get a liquor license? I don’t think Tully’s had one.

I would guess you are joking but if not, West Seattle already has three McDonald’s. Fried chicken, we’re a little short on, but White Center has KFC, Popeye’s, even Bok-A-Bok.

FWIW That fellow that told me about the Tullys location also said that he knew who was going to open at the Homestead location. Not being into restaurants myself, I do not remember who it was that was going to be there. I think that he said that it was going to be an itialian restaurant. And that he knew the new owner and said positives things about him.
